Ave Verum Corpus (Hail, true Body) is a motet Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart wrote in 1791. It has been a very popular work not only in the choral repertoire, but also in various arrangements for instrumental music.
There are two versions in this publication. Version A is in D major, the original key. Version B is transposed a half step up to E-flat major.
The complete instrumentation is best for this transcription; however, it can be performed with as few as 12 players (in bold).
Parts No. 19–33 are optional. No. 21–32 are transposed from the original parts which are indicated in brackets, with or without modification.
