Between 1866 and 1901, the Norwegian composer, Edvard Grieg wrote 10 books of Lyric Pieces for piano. Ballad is the 5th piece in the Lyric Pieces, Book 8, Op. 65, published in 1897.
The complete instrumentation is best for this transcription; however, it can be performed with as few as 10 players (in bold). This transcription is also suitable for a medium sized or even large band.
